North Rocks is an older well-established area located 26km northwest of Sydney CBD and is considered part of 'The Hills' and 'The Northern Districts' of Sydney.
North Rocks is characterised by a large golf course, the steep Barclay Road and a town centre incorporating of The Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children, Westfield Shoppingtown North Rocks and a number of street shops.
North Rocks also consists of a large reserve, a community centre, a cemetery, 3 petrol stations and a choice of schools all located on North Rocks Road, which runs through the heart of North Rocks.
North Rocks is located adjacent to Baulkham Hills, Carlingford, Epping and North Parramatta. The M2 Motorway is within easy reach from North Rocks Rd and in fact runs through North Rocks. Public transport to, from and throughout the area is provided by bus with train stations accessible from nearby Epping and Parramatta.
Darling Mills State Forrest runs parallel with North Rocks adding to the picturesque quality of the suburb.
North Rocks is also home to a number of industrial businesses such as Lever Rexona all located nearest to North Parramatta on the outskirts of the suburb.
